The Loretto Convent is affiliated with the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a worldwide organization of Catholic women who serve those in need in their communities. Eighteen sisters live at the convent in Wheaton, which encompasses 16 acres of beautifully maintained landscape and serves as a center for psychological counseling, spiritual direction, individual retreats and massage therapy. Also located on the grounds is the Loretto Extension Service, which provides correspondence courses to high school students who need credit to receive their diplomas. Loretto's ministry connections in Wheaton include Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Daniel the Prophet Parish and St. Francis High School.
