The Lincolnway Barber Shop is an old-fashioned walk-in style barber shop in historic downtown Plainfield. The shop was opened in 1881 by Al Worst, the great-great grandfather of current owner Don Kinley. The building dates to 1901 and the shop is named for the first transcontinental highway in the United States - the Lincoln Highway. Large picture windows look out onto brick-lined sidewalks and other specialty shops and restaurants in the downtown shopping district. There are always two barbers working and if there is a short wait, it is painless because conversation is always flowing.
