Jane Stenson is one of three elementary schools in Skokie School District 68. Approximately 300 students from kindergarten through 5th grade attend the school.
The school was named after Jane Stenson, principal of Skokie's first school, Sharp Corner Schools, in 1929. Stenson worked 40 years at Sharp Corner Schools and was recognized as a leader in education and the community. The school has been at its current location since 1953.
The school is also located next to Sequoya Park which is used by many of the children as their playground during recess.
