In 1952, 150 families in the Flossmoor area came together to form what is now Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church. IJP's goal is to help nurture and strengthen the congregation's faith and knowledge in Christ. Understanding the hectic nature of people's lives, IJP provides several Mass services throughout the weekday and weekend.
In 1997, a "parish inclusion committee" was formed which gave IJP the chance to better understand how to serve parishioners with disabilities. Because of this initiative IJP has included accessible seating, handicap bathrooms and even an accessibility ramp leading up the alter.
In addition to the church, Infant Jesus of Prague features a Blue Ribbon elementary school educating students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
