Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm, located alongside the DuPage River Greenway and behind the Hidden Oaks Nature Center in northern Bolingbrook close to the intersection of W. Boughton and Schmidt Road, is a series of four freshwater fishing ponds for which the parks district requires users to buy fishing permits. You must be 16 or older to purchase a fishing permit and fees, which range from $10-$40 and differ for residents and non-residents.
Fishers can buy bait, rent poles, buy hot food and purchase candy and drinks from vending machines at the "Tackle Box," a tackle shop and concessions stand to the left of the entrance to the trout farm. There's also a walking path accessible to the DuPage River Greenway for non-fishers. Hidden Lake's featured freshwater fish include trout, bass, bluegill, perch, catfish and crappie.
