Helen Keller Elementary School, founded in 1977, provides educational services to students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as mathematics, art, social studies, physical education, science, music and reading. The school also offers special and gifted and talented education programs. Its campus includes a gymnasium, learning center, library, playground, computer laboratory and classrooms. The school also provides a range of supplies to students, which includes glue sticks, color pencils, tissue boxes, pens, scissors, spiral notebooks, highlighters and sharpeners. In addition, it involves students in variety of before- and after-school activities, such as basketball, student council, and reading and sign language clubs. Helen Keller Elementary School is a part of Kirby School District 140 and is located in Tinley Park, Ill.
