Georgia Nut Company is a family-owned and operated business that develops and manufactures snacks and other confections, including almonds, baked goods, chocolate, cookies, gourmet caramel apples, cashews, hard candy, dried fruit, brazil nuts, pistachios, mixed nuts, peanuts and pecans. The company has a rich history and during its very early beginning was merely a company that roasted and salted nutmeats. As the popularity of Georgia Nut products grew and the customer base widened, Georgia Nut made its first big move into the California Avenue facility, located in Chicago, Ill., in 1961. In 1983, there was the addition of a new processing facility in Morton Grove, Ill. During this time, Georgia Nut began to manufacture carob, yogurt, chocolate, honey roasted and butter toffee coated nuts and fruits. The Skokie, Ill., facility houses manufacturing equipment.
