Established in 1930 as the Family Service of South Lake County, Family Service: Prevention, Education & Counseling NFP, is a nonprofit organization. It provides human and social services to individuals, families and communities. Family Service: Prevention, Education & Counseling NFP offers individual, couple and family therapies and in-home family guidance services to people who suffer from mental and physical disabilities. It also provides community education programs and stress and money management services, as well as conducts school-based parenting and caretaker burnout prevention workshops. The organization operates the Nuestro Center, which is a bilingual family resource facility that serves more than 710 clients annually and offers consultation and training to local senior centers. Family Service: Prevention, Education & Counseling NFP maintains one of its offices in Highland Park, Ill.
