HistoryRon and Barb Byers founded Western Illinois Home Health Care in 1981. At that time, there was no home care available in their rural community. They proudly opened their first office in Monmouth, Illinois in July of 1981. Western Illinois Home Health Care provides third party reimbursed skilled services (Medicare, Veteran's Administration, Private Insurance Companies, Medicaid) to people in their home setting. The Byers' felt the need, early on, to expand and offer additional services that may be needed to help people remain in their homes. A sister agency, Western Illinois Managed Home Services, was established in Galesburg, Illinois to provide care to clients in all age groups and to offer expanded hours of service with up to 24-hour coverage in a home if needed. Since opening in 1981, Western Illinois Home Health Care and Western Illinois Managed Home Services have expanded to four offices.
