The DuPage County Sheriff's Office is comprised of three bureaus, including corrections bureau, law enforcement and administrative. The office oversees law enforcement in the communities of DuPage County, Iowa. The department is a division of the county s government. Its primary responsibilities include providing enforcement of laws that relate to crimes against persons and property, as well as initiating investigations into such crimes. It also enforces codes and ordinances pertaining to traffic and parking. In addition, the department participates in programs that are geared toward community awareness and crime prevention. The police department maintains records and compiles reports regarding emergency calls, types of reported crimes and offender registrations. It also files reports on behalf of residents pertaining to crimes and traffic accidents. The DuPage County Sheriff's Office is headquartered in Wheaton, Ill.
