For almost 100 years the Donellan family has been there for Chicago residents during some of their most trying times. It's rare to think of funeral homes as serving with distinction, but in the case of the Donellans, that's exactly what they've done: during World War II, the family was contracted by the U.S. Armed Forces to serve as the funeral directors for the entire city.
The family used this opportunity to expand, and with them they took their philosophy - treating the bereaved with dignity and respect, as well as honoring special and individual customs - and spread it to each of their five locations. The founder, Edward Donellan, started this business with a desire to serve the community, and it's a legacy the family fulfills to this day.
