History
The Hawkins Brothers purchased the Shaffer Bowling Alley which had been in operation since the late 50's. The Building was completely gutted and remodeled. They chose to name the new business Doherty's in honor of their late mother Virginia Hawkins whose maiden name was Doherty. She was proud of her Irish Heritage and loved her Paddy's Irish Whiskey. The area of six bowling lanes was converted to a banquet room that seats 85. Six of the original bowling alleys were preserved and can be rented with the banquet room. One lane was used to create the top of the new bar. The bar features imported and craft draft beers and an assortment of Irish and Scotch whiskeys.
