De La Salle Institute, based in Chicago, is an independent Catholic secondary school. Founded in 1889, the institute offers various study courses through its departments for applied sciences, language arts and social sciences. It provides instruction in a wide range of areas, such as sculpture, accounting, advanced art, algebra, biology, business law, chemistry, consumer education, developmental reading and earth science. De La Salle Institute also provides instruction in several other areas, including English, environmental science, French, geometry, physical science, public speaking, religion, social justice and world history. The institute offers a variety of services for students, such as financial aid, food services, media resources and transportation. It has a parent-teacher association that supports various events organized in the institute.
