Lake Land College
Lake Land College, founded in 1966, and located in Mattoon, Ill., is a public community college offering career and bachelor s degree programs, liberal arts and adult education, and special job training and retraining programs. The more than 300-acre campus houses an agriculture land laboratory, computer and design labs, child care center, and cosmetology and dental clinics. The college enrolls more than 7,400 students from east central Illinois, and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Lake Land College s library provides access to books, magazines and electronic databases. Its academic programs include classes in agriculture, allied health, business, humanities, math and science, technology, and social science and education. The college also offers intramural programs, student government associations, livestock judging teams, student radio station, student newspaper, and more than 20 student clubs and organizations.
