The Clarendon Hills Police Department was founded in 1924 with one officer, Ed Mochel. Today, it has one deputy chief, three sergeants, 10 officers and a community service officer, as well as administrative personnel. The patrol division is the department's primary provider of police services, including emergency response, traffic control and investigations. The Clarendon Hills Police Department is part of the Felony Investigative Assistance Team, a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of officers from the Brookfield, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Downers Grove, Lombard, Woodridge, Oak Brook and Westmont communities.
