A tidy cluster of brick apartments just south of Roosevelt and Main, the Chicagoland Missionary Guest Apartments are reserved specifically for missionaries. Often, the missionaries are on furlough or on some other short-term break from serving overseas, and the Chicagoland Missionary Guest Apartments give them a place to stay and gather while they spend time in the Chicago area. Most of the missionaries meet in the tradition of the Plymouth Brethren, though the guest apartments accept missionaries from other assemblies and denominations. Most of the missionaries are referred to the apartments, which are managed by Jim and Janice Drechsel, by the Chicagoland Missionary Study Class, a regular meeting of men to study and discuss missions.
