Carlinville High School works for the emotional, physical, intellectual and social development of students in grades 9 through 12. Its academic curriculum includes instruction in mathematics, science, social studies, Spanish, English, physical education and fine arts. The school also provides various athletic opportunities, such as basketball, cross-country, football, golf, softball, soccer, wrestling, and track and field. Carlinville High School operates a library media center that stocks more than 15,000 types of books and other reading and reference materials. The school has a work force of over 40 employees, including teachers and support staff. It is located in Carlinville, Ill., and is a part of Carlinville Community Unit School District 1, which also operates middle and elementary schools.
