Formed in 1942, the Burbank Fire Department works to save lives and property and prevent citizens from natural or manmade disasters. It employs full-time firefighters and paramedics, as well as has more than 20 paid-on-call members. The department s fleet of firefighting apparatus includes engines, aerial towers, heavy rescue squads, technical rescue trailers, advance life support ambulances, and service and command vehicles. The Burbank Fire Department handles fire suppression, technical rescue and hazardous materials incidents. It is located in Burbank, Ill.
