HistoryJoe & LouAnn Zeller met at Northern Illinois University before graduating with BFA degrees in Visual Communications in 1987. ZGraphics was established in September 1989, just 5 months after they were married. The company was located in the Zeller's basement until moving into the current East Dundee location in April 1993. Many years before, a Mexican restaurant burned to the ground, leaving behind an empty lot that is now the home of ZGraphics. ZGraphics' building was constructed on the empty lot between the 2 adjacent structures that are still currently standing. The front foyer walls of ZGraphics are actually the original brick exterior walls of the neighboring buildings. Story has it, before it was a Mexican restaurant, the site was used as a speakeasy during Prohibition times.
