History
Annie's Resale for the World was founded in July 2012 by Donald and Annie Farrell of Streamwood, IL. The shop resulted from Annie's love of resale shopping, coupled with their desire to raise support for some very special groups of people they have come to know as a result of their travels throughout Africa, Asia and Haiti. Through these travels, they have witnessed their Partner organizations tirelessly serving the extreme poor. This includes the care of orphaned children and families, economic development projects, assistance with refugee families in war-torn countries and local needs around Chicago as well, The shop opened its doors for business in October 2012. Due to the amazing generosity of people who donate their good quality clothing and household goods, as well as a hardworking Board of Directors and Volunteer Base, the shop has already begun funding small projects for their Partners around the world, as well as reaching out to the needs of their local community.
Specialties
Annie's Resale for the World is a nonprofit upscale resale shop in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. We specialize in good quality clothing, accessories and home decor items for men, women and children. We were created for the purpose of sharing our store profits with our six Partner organizations around the world and one Partner in Chicago. All of our Partners were chosen for this support because we have been to their countries and we've witnessed their work firsthand. This includes work with children and families in the countries of Haiti, Kenya, Uganda, India, Burma and other countries around the world. Our Chicago Partner helps young mothers and fathers (ages 13 to 33) who need assistance with parenting, job skills, housing and other support for their new families. All of the items in our shop have been donated. We issue a tax receipt for all donated items when they are dropped off in our shop. Donations can be brought in during our business hours from Monday through Saturday
