Yorkville American Legion Post 489 welcomes eligible veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces. Being a member of the American Legion offers veterans camaraderie as well as an ability to continue their service through volunteer opportunities. The Legion sponsors youth programs, scholarships and a multitude of community programs.
Post 489 also hosts an American Legion Auxiliary office. The Auxiliary is organized by and accepts relatives of Legion members or deceased veterans who may or may not have been members. Auxiliary members also contribute to the community through volunteer opportunities.
