Founded in 1979, the American Islamic Association is set up to provide a place for Muslims to practice religion, provide educational opportunities and do community and social outreach.
The 14-acre St. Francis Road facilities were built in 1982 and include a mosque and weekend school. The mosque holds five daily prayer services as well as special religious holiday celebrations. The school offers three different classes--Quran, Hadith and Islamiyah--for ages four and older.
