James Bresch, MD
James Bresch, MD is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in Sports Medicine, specializing in arthroscopic surgery, shoulder and knee care. He also performs total knee replacements, and unicompartmental knee replacements. Dr. Bresch completed his medical degree at Loyola University in Chicago and then fulfilled his internship and residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Following residency, Dr. Bresch completed additional training with a Sports Medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedics in Inglewood, CA. Dr. Bresch has worked with many professional and collegiate sports teams in his 25 plus years of experience and continues to fill the role of Division Director of Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery at Lutheran General Hospital. Additionally, he is a current member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. An inventor at heart, Dr. Bresch has worked with many partners in developing advancements in orthopedic devices and surgical systems, including holding a patent for a surgical needle redesign that won him the US Army’s Invention Award. When not seeing patients, Dr. Bresch enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He has participated in triathlons, marathons, and duathlons, and is an avid woodworker and beekeeper.
