Clinical Laboratory Under the medical direction of three full-time pathologists, more than 65 medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians and support staff provide comprehensive clinical and anatomical laboratory testing in Condell's full-service laboratory. Our laboratory has received the national accreditation by the College of American Pathologists. Laboratory tests are a helpful tool to diagnose, treat and confirm a disease or other medical problem, as well as offer a baseline for monitoring any changes that take place in the future. The ACL Laboratories' facility at Condell is committed to satisfying our patient's needs with high-quality services. This includes helping you better understand your test results so that you may have a more meaningful discussion with your doctor. How to Prepare for a Lab Test When your physican orders a specific lab test for you, he or she will give you the proper directions in order to prepare for the test. Many tests do not require any special instructions prior to the tests. Others require preparation, such as fasting. Ask your physician or nurse for any specific preparation that you need to make prior to your lab test. Scheduling a Lab Test If your physician has ordered a lab test for you, call our outpatient registration department to schedule your appointment. Outpatient registration: 847-990-6000. IMPORTANT! Condell's Laboratory requires a written order by your physician for lab tests. Either your physician can fax us the order or you can bring in the written order at the time of your appointment. Fax order to: 847-573-4300 Please note, the results of your lab test are forwarded to your physician. Your physician will contact you to discuss the results and schedule a follow-up appointment if necessary.
