Woodson is a village in Morgan County, Illinois, United States. The population was 559 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Jacksonville Micropolitan Statistical Area. The village is named after David M. Woodson.
The village was founded in 1859.
Woodson is located at 39°37?41?N 90°13?18?W / 39.62806°N 90.22167°W / 39.62806; -90.22167 (39.628035, -90.221761), south of Lake Jacksonville and south of combined US Route 36 and Interstate 72. It lies next to State Highway 67. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km²), all of it land.
