United Heritage Life Insurance Company was incorporated in 1934 as the Grange Mutual Life Company. Originally licensed to provide affordable insurance to Grange Members living in Washington and Idaho, the company opened its business to the general public in 1958. In 1991, the company officially changed its name to United Heritage Life Insurance Company, and four years later formed a broker/dealer subsidiary, United Heritage Financial Services, Inc., to market mutual funds. United Heritage holds assets in excess of $287 million, with life insurance in force of $1.1 billion with nearly 56,000 policyholders. The company employs more than 80 people in its home office, Meridian, Idaho, with a field force of 1,500 agents throughout the 22 Western states. United Heritage Life Insurance Company has received a Certificate of Authority to conduct the business of life, accident, and disability insurance in the state of Illinois. Illinois represents United Heritage's first expansion east of the Mississippi River since its founding in 1934.
