Idaho Transportation Department's District 5 serves the residents of Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power counties in Idaho. The transportation department provides transportation systems that are safe, reliable and responsive for the economical and efficient movement of people and products. It is an integrated network of more than 60,000 miles of roads, over 4,000 bridges and nearly 125 public airports. The Idaho Transportation Department also includes approximately 1,700 bridges and more than 30 recreational and emergency airstrips. It works to provide state rail planning and rail-project development solutions and supports several bicycle and pedestrian projects. The department works with a team of over 1,800 employees and operates aeronautics, highways, motor vehicles, transportation planning, administrative services and public transportation divisions.
