History

The Ruth Melichar Bird Center is the avian facility for Animals In Distress Association (AIDA), a nonprofit organization consisting of state and federally licensed rehabilitators and volunteers that are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, displaced and orphaned wildlife. The Ruth Melichar Bird Center aids about 3,000 birds every year in the Treasure Valley area.

Over the course of 20 years we have brought about 6-8 robins, starlings, sparrows & 2 ducklings & 1 crow! to them & they are so wonderful to raise them & then release them if they can.
