Founded in 1939 as a farm advocacy group, The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation s main mission is to promote the well being of farm and ranch families in Idaho and to maintain parity prices for agriculture, industry and labor. The organization has approximately 60,000 member families and active boards in more than 35 counties. The boards meet regularly and discuss pertinent issues, formulate ideas and policy statements, as well as conduct debates at the district and state levels during the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation's annual convention. In addition, the organization founded the Idaho Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho in 1947 that offers a full line of automobile, property and casualty, crop and life insurance coverage. The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation is affiliated with the American Farm Bureau Federation and maintains its headquarters in Pocatello, Idaho.
