Coeur d'Alene Cellars was founded to create the best quality Rhone varietal wines from the best quality fruit found in the Columbia, Walla Walla and Yakima Valleys of Washington State. Owned by Kimber Gates and her parents, Dr. Charlie and Sarah Gates, and their family, it now produces over 3, 400 cases each year and has nine current releases. Since its inception in 2002, and with the grand opening of their new facilities, CDA Cellars has had an excellent response to its wines by many industry experts. It is solidly positioned to continue this track record through growth and marketing of its current and future products.Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Sept. 2005, awarded "90 pts" to their first release, the 2002 Syrah, as well as an Editor's Choice award, meaning that at $25 it was a Best Buy, too. The 2003 also earned "90 pts" in the Wine Enthusiast, a Double Gold in the International Eastern Wine Competition in NY, and "Best of Show" at the Idaho Wine Festival in Boise, Aug. 2006. Wine Press NW named their premium Syrah, 2003 Opulence", Pacific Northwest Wine of Week in May, 2006. Six consecutive successful years of Viognier vintages makes them one of the most established of any Viognier produces.Coeur d'Alene Cellars distributes its traditional Rhone varietals throughout Washington, Idaho, and Montana, but they also handcraft unique vintages, blends and vineyard designated Syrahs, reflecting the famous terroir of Columbia Valley vineyards and "the fine art of wine" for which they have become known. These limited offerings are only available through their tasting rooms and wine club channels
