History
Paradise Park closed in 1994 so our parking lot remained unused. The frequent vandalism and thefts to vehicles left in the parking area at the entrance to the Manoa Falls trail left many visitors looking for more secure parking. To answer that need, we opened our parking lot to the general public in 2006. Because a parking attendant is on duty between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day of the week, the trail became a popular family activity to visit a Hawaiian rainforest along fairly easy terrain, culminating at a beautiful waterfall. However, the popularity of the trail required visitor amenities. The State of Hawaii's Na Ala Hele trail department organized improvements along the trail, created a waterfall lookout platform and constructed a solar-vented restroom. Paradise Park recognized the continually increasing need for visitor comfort so we re-opened the street level of our main building for a snack shop, restrooms and lobby.
