Located in Kapaa, Hawaii, Kapaa Elementary School is a coeducational institution that has a population of more than 850 students in kindergarten through grade five. It is one of the largest elementary schools in the state of Hawaii and is governed by the Kawaihau District. Kapaa Elementary School operates the Schools-Within-A School program, which works towards the development of smaller instructional teams and communities within the school. It also has a School of Meaningful and Integrated Learning Experiences program, which is a developmentally appropriate language arts program that is meant to create interest for reading. Established in 1991, Kapaa Elementary School conducts classes in art, physical education and technology.
