History
Island Thyme Gourmet started as a personal chef business . In September, 2009 we purchased Blue Sky Cuisine and became a private jet catering company as well. This gave us the opportunity to have our own commercial kitchen so we could expand our personal chef business with lots of prep space and storage. Private jet catering prepared us for our next adventure and in November 2010, we became the official caterer for Alaska Airlines! We cater all their flights out of Kona. In December 2016, we partnered with American Airlines and cater their flights out of Kona too. We also make sausage and soups that we have for sale at our kitchen with limited delivery service available .
Specialties
We are a personal chef service that provides customized menus for each of our clients based on their own palates. We do simple pupu parties, dinner parties, picnics and any other kind of meal preparation you can think of! We also offer a drop off dinner service for clients that don't want to go to restaurants during the pandemic. We are active members of Slow Food Hawaii and are committed to using local seasonal products from the bounty of Big Island. Chef Dan is a classically trained chef and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and prepares everything on your menu from scratch.
