Healthy Climate Communities is a non-profit organization based in Kailua, HI, dedicated to educating and engaging the community in the fight against climate change. Through their community forestry program, thousands of volunteers work together to care for 3,000 native and endemic trees and plants, restoring wetland and dryland forest habitats. They also provide state-wide education on climate change through place-based science curriculum and teacher training, as well as environmental education field trips and school visits on O'ahu.
Additionally, Healthy Climate Communities is actively involved in building a traditional Hawaiian Hale to provide shelter and learning opportunities for school groups and foresters. As a 501(c)(3) organization, they rely on donations to support their initiatives and all contributions are tax deductible.
