Family Rescue Outreach Program
Family Rescue, founded in 1981, is a nonprofit agency helping victims of domestic violence, especially abused women and their children. It provides a wide variety of services, including 24-hour crisis intervention, counseling services, information and referrals, and children's services. The organization also offers other services, such as legal and social service advocacy, life skills education, nonemergency medical assistance, substance abuse counseling and support, and referral to partnering agencies. Its Ridgeland Transitional Housing and Daycare program offers various services, including subsidized housing, homemaker assistance, life management skills, food and clothing assistance, day care center for children ages 3 to 5, teen enrichment program, and before and after school classes. Family Rescue s community outreach program provides counseling, advocacy, and outreach to survivors of domestic violence. Its counselors work with individuals and in group settings on supporting and educating women and children about the trauma of abuse. The organization is headquartered in Chicago.
