Started in 1990 by two long-time friends in Statesboro, Ga., Zaxby's has become one of the most popular chains in the metro Atlanta area. Its menu is always changing with new chicken items; and its appetizers are quite unique with choices like fried pickles, fried mushrooms and fried white cheddar cheese bites, each with a delicious sauce. The salads, called Zalads, are large and filled with chicken and come with a piece of Texas toast. The chicken tender platters and sandwiches come with a choice of sides such as fries, onion rings, cole slaw or side salad. Chicken wings are also available as are a variety of desserts. Interiors are decorated with rock music posters and classic rock music wafts throughout the restaurant.
