West Point Lake is a man-made reservoir made possible by West Point Dam, which was built in 1975 for flood control management. West Point Lake provides fish and wildlife management and recreation.

Surrounded by deep forests and rolling fields, West Point Lake extends 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia state line, and with nearly 26,000 acres of water surface and 525 miles of shoreline it provides excellent opportunities for fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, boating, birding, and much more.
