South Georgia Pecan Company was incorporated as a family owned business in 1913 by the Pearlman family of Valdosta. In 1967 the company was purchased by Beatrice Foods. With the breakup of Beatrice Foods in 1983, its current owners, Ed Crane and Jim Worn, took over the company with a commitment to quality and service. Its in-house laboratory performs micro and biotechnical tests on its daily production for quality assurance.
