In 1920, Roger Wood joined Cudahy Packing in Savannah, Ga. In 1936, Wood and others started their own meat packing plant. Then 10 years later, after World War II and a temporary closing, Wood restarted the company s operations as sole owner and named it Roger Wood Packing Company. Roger Wood Foods is a family-owned and operated meat-processing company. The company produces several types of sausage, hot dogs, smoked and cured meats that include bacon, hocks and turkey wings and Hispanic meats. Roger Wood Foods distributes products to six states, including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
