Piedmont College is a private, coeducational, church-affiliated liberal arts institution in Georgia. It was founded in 1897 as the J.S. Green Collegiate Institute, and afterwards became affiliated with the Congregationalist Church due to a need for additional financial support. The college has an enrollment of more than 2,500 students and offers undergraduate degree programs and graduate programs in education and business. It provides bachelor s degree in arts, science, fine arts and nursing. It has athletic teams for various sports, including basketball, soccer, cross country, tennis, softball, volleyball and baseball. The college provides financial assistance to eligible students through scholarships, grants, loans and employment. Piedmont College has campuses in Demorest and Athens, Ga. It is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the National League of Nursing.
