PDAN is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing public awareness of personality disorders, mitigating the impact of personality disorders on relationships, and preventing the development of personality disorders in children. PDAN's mission is to address the needs of children who have been exposed to risk factors so that we can work with schools, foster agencies, child welfare departments, hospitals, religious institutions, mental health professionals, and other places to provide education, resources, and assistance. PDAN's primary method to help teach children and families how to handle and prevent future impacts of personality disorders is Bibliotherapy, or the use of books as a tool in therapy. PDAN has published several therapeutic children's books, and plans to continue to provide these materials at a low cost to at-risk families and children.
