Gwinnett County Transportation
The Gwinnett County infrastructure system includes more than 2,600 miles of road, nearly 580 signalized intersections, thousands of miles of traffic striping and one of the busiest airports in Georgia. The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation performs its mission with more than 170 full-time personnel and an annual operating budget of approximately $24 million. The department's mission is to provide the public with safe, efficient design, construction, maintenance and operation of the county's surface transportation and aviation systems. The administration division is the internal service organization. Duties include coordination of the capital improvement program and operational budgets, management of department personnel matters, administrative staff and office needs, overseeing the cooperative education program, the Adopt-A-Road Program and coordination with other metro-Atlanta agencies on regional transportation planning issues. Other divisions include aviation, transportation plans, transit, construction, and maintenance and planning. The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation is located in Lawrenceville, Ga.
