The home of Kappa Kappa Gamma at UGA is a stately brick and columned home on South Milledge. Nickenamed Kappa, the Delta Upsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma began at UGA in 1948. The roots of the sorority date back to Monmouth College in 1870 and now include nearly 200,000 women worldwide. According to the national Web site, "Kappa Kappa Gamma at its core is friendship, leadership and scholarship . . . an opportunity and experience for a lifetime." The last crawfish boil hosted by the Kappas at UGA raised $28,000 for Hurricane Katrina victims and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The girls of Kappa Kappa are vibrant participants of UGA's tradition of excellence.
