Established in 1975 as The School of Medicine at Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine offers several educational programs in the areas of family medicine, community health and preventive medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, psychiatry, surgery and pediatrics. The school enrolls more than 3,600 students annually. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Morehouse School of Medicine is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium. The school maintains a work force of over 240 full- and part-time faculty members. It has several nationally recognized research centers and institutes, including the Cardiovascular Research Institute, National Center for Primary Care, Clinical Research Center and Prevention Research Center. The school is located in Atlanta.
