Chamblee Charter School
Established in 1917, Chamblee Charter High School is a coeducational school that serves more than 1,400 students in grades nine through 12 and is operated by the DeKalb County School System. It offers more than 15 advanced placement programs and a variety of academic courses, including career technology, English, fine arts, health and physical education, foreign languages, mathematics, science, social studies and special education. The school provides a wide variety of athletic activities, such as basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, wrestling, soccer, swimming, tennis, and track and field. Its media center offers more than 18,000 books, over 1,300 videos, print magazines, newspapers, computer workstations with Internet access and a large online database. Additionally, the school offers a magnet program for high achievers, a production laboratory and additional programs, such as National Wildlife Federation habitat, Cox Enterprises and peer helpers programs.
