The Georgia Department of Labor, founded in 1911, offers industrial and occupational safety services, and is responsible for the administration of labor laws. It is a state agency designated by the governor to provide work force management. It provides a wide range of services to job seekers and employers, such as administration of Georgia's unemployment insurance, employment service and vocational rehabilitation programs. It also offers work force information to the public and private sectors, administers cases of child labor issues, and inspects boilers, pressure vessels, amusement park and carnival rides. Georgia Department of Labor has more than 4,000 employees and operates through various divisions and offices, such as employment services, workforce development, rehabilitation services, safety engineering, and workforce information and analysis. It has more than 100 local career centers and vocational rehabilitation program offices throughout the United State. The department is located at Norcross, Ga.
