History
Dr. Richard James is a board certified dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. James received his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. After interning at Tripler Army Medical Center in HI, Dr. James completed his dermatology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He completed the Mohs Micrographic Surgery Fellowship at The Skin Surgery Center in Winston- Salem, NC. He is retired US Army Colonel, with 24 years of active duty service n the Medical Corps. During his time in the military, he has served as a flight surgeon and received several awards such as Flight Surgeon of the Year, Army Commendation Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star. He is an active member of the Georgia Society of Dermatologists, as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
