The Georgia Legal Services Program works to provide access to justice and opportunities out of poverty for the low-income residents of Georgia. It offers a variety of services, such as advice and counsel for civil cases, briefing, representation in administrative hearings and courts, other legal assistance, and referrals to private attorneys and to other related services. The program also supports and conducts a range of educational programs and operates a landlord and tenant housing helpline. With a location in Savannah, Ga., the Georgia Legal Services Program administers various special projects related to statewide domestic violence, migrant and seasonal farm workers, elder legal assistance and elder abuse prevention, homeless legal assistance and long-term care ombudsman.
