Founded in 1983, Logmatix began its existence as Logmatics, a bar code service bureau primarily working with customers servicing the Department of Defense. Its founding partner developed experience in automated identification, material handling and the intricacies of bar code protocols. In the mid- to late-1980s, Logmatix expanded operations to include selling to customers servicing other sectors as well as adding distribution of equipment and thermal transfer ribbon sales. At the same time Logmatix began converting labels of various sizes and materials for its customers. The next step in Logmatix evolution was the purchase of a three color, flexographic press, which allowed expansion into multicolor label sales.
