The Roads and Bridges department is a division of the Forsyth County Engineering Department in Georgia. It is responsible for the repair and maintenance of existing county roads and rights-of-way with the help of activities, equipment and work force. The department focuses on pothole patching, milling, mowing, and tree trimming, removal and chipping services. The Roads and Bridges department also offers services for the preparation oversight of calcium chloride application to gravel roads and repair and maintenance of drainage ditch and stormwater structures, as well as hydro seeding. It provides replacement services for cross and side drain systems. The department provides personnel services for emergencies and natural and man-made disasters. The Roads and Bridges Division works to remove roadway debris resulting from vehicular accidents, plows and spreads salt during ice and snow events, and closes and barricades roads that are unsafe for drivers.
